I love drawing cute chibi animals.

These types of drawings are super cute to add to any notebook or planner and they also make great drawing projects for kids.

I’ve already done a lot of tutorials on drawing cute and kawaii animals that you can check out here.

Since Halloween is coming up, I thought I’d cover how to draw a cat inside a pumpkin. You can check out my cat pumpkin tutorial here.

I am currently using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.

But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or color pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.

How to draw a cat in a pumpkin – Step by step for beginners

I always start with simple shapes so that anyone can do this drawing.

Let’s start with the top of the cat’s head. Draw it on top of the page so we have more space to draw the whole drawing. We’ll draw a small curve like this:

1 - draw a small curve

Next, I will draw the cat’s ears and the sides of its face like this.

2 - draw the cat's ears and side of face

Next, we are going to draw the cats paws and the bottom of the cat’s face like this:

3 - draw the cat's paws and the rest of the face

Now, let’s add some details: We’ll draw the cat’s eyes and mouth – add some whiskers as well!

4 - draw the cat's face

Now, draw the sides of the pumpkin.

5 - draw the sides of the pumpkin

Next, draw the bottom of the pumpkin.

6 - draw the bottom of the pumpkin

Now, it’s time to add details to the pumpkin.

I’m going to start with drawing 2 round eyes like this – they need to look carved, so make sure the holes are big!

7 - draw the eyes of the pumpkin

Next, I’m going to draw 2 teeth carved into the pumpkin.

8 - draw the teeth

And let’s connect the tooth to the other using a C shaped curve – do it on one side.

9 - draw one side of the mouth

Now, do it on the other side and your pumpkin mouth will look complete!

10 - draw the other side of the mouth

Ain’t he cute?

Now, it’s time to color our little cat in the pumpkin.

First, I’ll start out by coloring our little pumpkin.

11 - color the pumpkin

And finally, I’ll color the cat and add some blush spots to his face too!

12 - color the cat

Learn how to create kawaii characters.

My old bud Ilaria (we’ve been friends on Instagram back when I had Instagram) created this course! I’ve watched her grow from 0 followers, and I’m so, so proud of her!

And believe it or not, there is not 1 single good online course about learning how to draw kawaii art and then making physical stickers on the internet. I’ve been looking for a course like this for a long, long time.

And it’s finally here!!!

You can create your own stickers and print them and sell them on Etsy or any space! She goes into detail about how to draw the characters.

This is by far one of the best courses I’ve taken that is so cute and so educational.

The course is in English, and it’s amazing!

What do you need?

A sketchbook, Photoshop, and a graphic tablet so that you can draw the kawaii characters. If you want to make stickers, you’ll need a printer and sticker sheets.

Even if you don’t want to make stickers and just draw kawaii characters, this course is perfect!

Sara teaches you how to draw anything in a nice kawaii style. I really love these kinds of courses because they’re so easy to learn and it’s very easy to get clients because this is a really relatable drawing style.

It is in Italian but it comes with subtitles and it’s really easy to follow.
