I am currently using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.

But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or color pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.

How to draw a cat pumpkin – Step by step for beginners

I always start with simple shapes so that anyone can do this drawing.

Let’s start with the top of the cat pumpkin’s head. We’ll draw a small curve like this:

1 - draw a curve

Next, I will draw the cat’s ears and the sides of the pumpkin – so I’m going to draw a curve like this on one side.

2 - draw one side of the pumpkin

Next, we are going to repeat the same thing on the other side:

2 - draw the other side of the pumpkin

It’s okay if they don’t look even – it doesn’t have to be realistic. The whole point of drawing these hand-drawn cartoons is for them to look hand-drawn.

Next, we’ll complete the pumpkin shape by drawing the bottom of the pumpkin.

3 - draw the bottom of the pumpkin

Now, draw a stalk and a leaf on top of the pumpkin.

4 - draw the stalk and leaf

Now, draw a small curly rind on the top.

5 - add a small rind

Finally, draw two eyes and a small mouth on the cat pumpkin.

6 - draw the cat's face on the pumpkin

Done!

Ain’t he cute?

Now, it’s time to color our little pumpkin.

First, I’ll start out with the base colors.

7 - color the pumpkin

Next, add some reddish tinge to the bottom and a yellow tinge on the top – this will make our pumpkin look very cute and round – and give it that spherical shape.

8 - add some light shading

Lastly, draw lines on the pumpkin and add 2 blush spots!

9 - add more details to the cat pumpkin face

Learn how to create kawaii characters.

My old bud Ilaria (we’ve been friends on Instagram back when I had Instagram) created this course! I’ve watched her grow from 0 followers, and I’m so, so proud of her!

And believe it or not, there is not 1 single good online course about learning how to draw kawaii art and then making physical stickers on the internet. I’ve been looking for a course like this for a long, long time.

And it’s finally here!!!

You can create your own stickers and print them and sell them on Etsy or any space! She goes into detail about how to draw the characters.

This is by far one of the best courses I’ve taken that is so cute and so educational.

The course is in English, and it’s amazing!

What do you need?

A sketchbook, Photoshop, and a graphic tablet so that you can draw the kawaii characters. If you want to make stickers, you’ll need a printer and sticker sheets.

Even if you don’t want to make stickers and just draw kawaii characters, this course is perfect!

Sara teaches you how to draw anything in a nice kawaii style. I really love these kinds of courses because they’re so easy to learn and it’s very easy to get clients because this is a really relatable drawing style.

It is in Italian but it comes with subtitles and it’s really easy to follow.
