How to Draw a Hand hold a Rose- (Step by Step) Easy guide for beginners
I’m going to draw small shapes step by step, so take this drawing at your own pace.
Let’s start with this U shape first – this is going to be the template of our little rose.
Now, draw 1 rose petal – just draw a straying line like this from the somewhat middle.
Now, unfold that petal like this:
Now, draw another petal unfolded on the side like this:
Next, we are going to draw the outer petals of the rose – so draw 2 petals on the side of the rose like this:
Now, draw 2 small folded petals like this near the top.
Next, draw the outer petals on the other side like this:
We’re done drawing the upper part of the rose – let’s draw 2 small wilted petals at the bottom of the rose like this:
Next, draw the stem and draw a leaf too!
Now, start drawing the hand – we’ll start with the index finger.
Complete drawing the index finger like so:
Next, draw the middle finger folded downwards like this:
Next, draw the ring finger folded downwards like this:
Next, draw the little finger and the rest of the hand.
Complete drawing the palm like this:
Next draw the thumb behind the index and middle finger like this and color the hand any color you want.
Next, color the rose – you can color the flower any color you want – I’m going with the standard red just for fun.
Next, I’m adding some pink touches to the rose just to give it some depth.
And we’re done!
You’ve just learned how to draw a hand holding a rose!
Congratulations!

It’s tricky to draw hands, and I have a long tutorial if you want to learn how to draw hands from any angle.
Here’s how I learned how to draw poses:
- Go to quickposes.com and practice drawing poses
- Take photos of yourself in different poses and use that as a drawing reference (one of the best ways to learn)
- Or look at stock photos online of people in poses so you can draw poses better.
Don’t worry if it doesn’t look the way you want it to in the beginning.
It does get better the more you practice drawing.
