How to draw Hanging Plants – step-by-step tutorial
The thing with drawing plants is, that you’ll never run out of variety.
You can mix and match pots, hanging threads, and plants and get a whole new variation every time!
So, I’ll start by drawing the rim of the pot.
Next, we’ll draw the rest of the pot.
Next, we need to draw a small point above the pot.
This is the point from where the hanging plant will hang.
Now, we’ll draw 3 lines which will be the lines of string from the point to the pot. You can use a ruler for this if you’re drawing it physically.
Next, color the pot.
You can choose any color you want. I’m going to color the pot purple and add some cute white dots to the potted plant.
Remember, you can draw any type of pot – the possibilities are endless.
Here are a few pots you can draw when drawing hanging plants:
Now, it’s time to draw the hanging plant.
Again, you can draw any type of plant inside your pot.
One thing to remember is when you’re drawing your plant, vary the color of the leaves.
Use 2-3 shades of green when drawing your plant – this way your hanging plant will look more authentic and real.
You can also draw a variety of plants to create a new hanging plant each time.
Let me show you one more example:
See, doesn’t the plant look completely different?
Let me show you another example of a hanging plant.
Feel free to mix and match plants so that you can draw multiple types of hanging plants.

This is by far one of the best courses I’ve taken that is so cute and so educational.
The course is in English, and it’s amazing!
What do you need?
A sketchbook, Photoshop, and a graphic tablet so that you can draw the kawaii characters. If you want to make stickers, you’ll need a printer and sticker sheets.
