How to Draw a Christmas Dog - Draw Cartoon Style!

Christmas is nearing!

And I love anything related to Christmas – it’s my favorite holiday.

This year, I thought I’d add multiple Christmas kawaii drawing tutorials.

All of these Christmas drawing ideas are for beginners and kids and they’re all step-by-step.

I’ve already done a lot of tutorials on Christmas already that includes Rudolph, A Christmas Gnome, A Christmas pudding, a Christmas tree with presents, and a Christmas tree with lights and a Christmas Guinea Pig.

But in this tutorial, I’ll teach you how to draw a Christmas Dog like this:

I am currently using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.

But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or colored pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.

You can print out this tutorial if you’d like to have it on paper with you.

How to draw a Christmas Dog – Step by step for beginners and kids

Let’s draw the snout of the dog first like this:

It’s just a basic cone shape with a small ball at the end for the dog’s nose.

Next, let’s draw the dog’s ear. I’m going to draw a simple long U shape for the ear next to the face of the dog.

Now, let’s draw the eyes, I’m going to draw another U shape and little eyelashes because I want the dog to look classy and pretty.

Then we can draw a quick Santa hat on the dog like so:

Then, we’ll draw a large rum on the dog’s neck – this is going to be the collar of the sweater on our cute Christmas Dog.

Next, we’ll draw a small sweater underneath the collar like this.

Then, draw the rim of the end of the sweater.

Next, we’ll draw the dog’s behind – just draw a curve and bring the curve downwards – this is also going to become a dog’s hind leg.

Draw a small paw at the end and bring the curve upwards towards the dog’s stomach.

Now, draw a small tail on the dog’s behind and draw a front leg. I’m going to draw a small cuff shape on the dog’s front leg to indicate the sleeve of the sweater.

End it by drawing a cute gift on the dog – just draw a square shape and draw a ribbon on the gift – you can draw your gift any way you like.

Next, you can color the dog any color you want.

I’m going to color the dog chocolate brown.

And finally, you can color the sweater and the gift – you can also add designs to the gift and the sweater.

Draw kawaii characters and make stickers!

And that’s it!

What do you need?

A sketchbook, Photoshop, and a graphic tablet so that you can draw the kawaii characters. If you want to make stickers, you’ll need a printer and sticker sheets.
