How to Draw a Christmas Guinea Pig

Christmas is nearing!

And I love anything related to Christmas – it’s my favorite holiday.

This year, I thought I’d add multiple Christmas kawaii drawing tutorials.

All of these Christmas drawing ideas are for beginners and kids and they’re all step-by-step.

I’ve already done a lot of tutorials on Christmas already that includes Rudolph, A Christmas pudding, a Christmas tree with presents, and a Christmas tree with lights.

But in this tutorial, I’ll teach you how to draw a Christmas guinea pig inside a Christmas wreath. Here’s what you’ll learn:

I am currently using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.

But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or colored pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.

How to draw a Christmas Guinea Pig – Step by step for beginners and kids

We are going to be using straightforward shapes for this drawing tutorial.

Let’s begin by drawing 2 concentric circles.

We will erase this later – this is a rough sketch for the wreath.

draw 2 concentric circles

Next, we’ll draw the top of the guinea pig’s head. We will draw a simple curve first.

Next, draw 2 ears on the sides of the guinea pig.

Now, we’ll draw the insides of the ears, I’m going to draw 2 small lines inside the ears of the guinea pig.

Then, we’ll draw the bottom of the guinea pig’s face – we are going to draw a huge bell-shaped curve like this:

draw te bottom of the face

Make sure the curve overlaps the bottom of the inner rough circle we’ve drawn.

Next, draw 2 eyes and a small nose on the guinea pig’s face.

And we’ve finished drawing the guinea pig’s face.

Next, we’ll draw the paws of the guinea pig. Draw 2 small paws and draw lines inside the paws.

We can erase the overlapping line of the face (because the paws are in front of the face) and now, let’s start drawing the inner portion of the wreath.

I’m going to draw small “U” shapes along the inner circle.

Let’s draw a bow on the wreath. We are going to draw a large simple bow.

And then we’ll finish the bow off by drawing 2 extensions of the ribbon below the bow like this:

Now, we’ll draw the outside of the Christmas wreath by drawing more “U” shapes along the outer circle. Once you finish drawing the wreath, you can erase the rough circles we drew earlier.

Lastly, finish the wreath by drawing little circles of different sizes in the wreath.

And voila!

We have ourselves a cute guinea pig in a wreath.

Next, color the guinea pig any color you want. I already have a post here on how to draw a guinea pig.

You can use that for inspiration or you can add colors like white, cream, sand brown and chocolate brown.

Next, I’ll color the ears and add blush on his cheeks just to make him look super kawaii.

Draw kawaii characters and make stickers!

And finally, color the wreath. You can color the wreath any color you want but I’m going to use Christmasey colors like green and red.

You can draw this on a Christmas card!

If you are interested in drawing in a kawaii style and then selling clipart or merchandise on Etsy, check out this course!

Learn how to create kawaii characters.

My old bud Ilaria (we’ve been friends on Instagram back when I had Instagram) created this course! I’ve watched her grow from 0 followers, and I’m so, so proud of her!

And believe it or not, there is not 1 single good online course about learning how to draw kawaii art and then making physical stickers on the internet. I’ve been looking for a course like this for a long, long time.

And it’s finally here!!!

You can create your own stickers and print them and sell them on Etsy or any space! She goes into detail about how to draw the characters.

This is by far one of the best courses I’ve taken that is so cute and so educational.

The course is in English, and it’s amazing!

What do you need?

A sketchbook, Photoshop, and a graphic tablet so that you can draw the kawaii characters. If you want to make stickers, you’ll need a printer and sticker sheets.

Even if you don’t want to make stickers and just draw kawaii characters, this course is perfect!

And if you are really keen on improving your drawings or you want to create cute kawaii animals and kawaii people, check out this second course by Sara.

Sara teaches you how to draw anything in a nice kawaii style. I really love these kinds of courses because they’re so easy to learn and it’s very easy to get clients because this is a really relatable drawing style.

It is in Italian but it comes with subtitles and it’s really easy to follow.
