How to Draw a Christmas Girl Elf

Christmas is nearing!

And I love anything related to Christmas – it’s my favorite holiday.

This year, I thought I’d add multiple Christmas kawaii drawing tutorials.

All of these Christmas drawing ideas are for beginners and kids and they’re all step-by-step.

I’ve already done a lot of tutorials on Christmas already that includes Rudolph, A Christmas Gnome, A Christmas pudding, a Christmas tree with presents, and a Christmas tree with lights and a Christmas Guinea Pig.

But in this tutorial, I’ll teach you how to draw a Christmas Girl Elf like this:

I am currently using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.

But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or colored pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.

You can print out this tutorial if you’d like to have it on paper with you.

How to draw a Christmas Girl Elf – Step by step for beginners and kids

Let’s draw the face of the Christmas elf first. We are going to start with a simple bowl curve shape.

draw a round curve

Next, we’ll draw the elf’s face.

I’m going to draw 2 small round eyes, a small curved nose and a “u” shaped mouth.

Now, I’ll draw 2 C-shaped ears at the sides of the elf’s face.

Next, we’ll draw the frills of the dress near the elf’s neck – I’m going to draw some quick frills on the neck.

Now, we’ll draw the dress of the elf underneath the frills.

Next, we’ll draw her little stockings.

I’m going to draw a “W” shape and then draw little stripes inside the stockings – this gives us a chance to add more color to the little Christmas girl elf.

Next, we are going to draw arms on the Christmas Elf – we’ll draw very simple sleeves and 2 small hands.

To complete the outfit, I’m going to draw a small belt on her dress.

Now, it’s time to draw the hair. You can draw any hairstyle you want, but I’m going to give her a middle parting like this:

draw the hairline

Next, I’ll draw her hat – I’ll draw a curve and draw some small inverted U shaped curves over the curve.

I’ll finish the elf’s hat by drawing a pointy triangle and a bell at the end. I have a whole tutorial on drawing an elf’s hat here.

Next, I’ll draw the elf’s hair – I’m going to give her curly hair.

Draw kawaii characters and make stickers!

And that’s it!

Now we can color the elf.

I’ll make her outfit green and red. I’ll color the bell and belt yellow.

And finally, I’ll color her skin and hair 2 shades of brown and give her rosy cheeks.

If you are interested in drawing in a kawaii style and then selling clipart or merchandise on Etsy, check out this course!

Learn how to create kawaii characters.

My old bud Ilaria (we’ve been friends on Instagram back when I had Instagram) created this course! I’ve watched her grow from 0 followers, and I’m so, so proud of her!

And believe it or not, there is not 1 single good online course about learning how to draw kawaii art and then making physical stickers on the internet. I’ve been looking for a course like this for a long, long time.

And it’s finally here!!!

You can create your own stickers and print them and sell them on Etsy or any space! She goes into detail about how to draw the characters.

This is by far one of the best courses I’ve taken that is so cute and so educational.

The course is in English, and it’s amazing!

What do you need?

A sketchbook, Photoshop, and a graphic tablet so that you can draw the kawaii characters. If you want to make stickers, you’ll need a printer and sticker sheets.

Even if you don’t want to make stickers and just draw kawaii characters, this course is perfect!

And if you are really keen on improving your drawings or you want to create cute kawaii animals and kawaii people, check out this second course by Sara.

Sara teaches you how to draw anything in a nice kawaii style. I really love these kinds of courses because they’re so easy to learn and it’s very easy to get clients because this is a really relatable drawing style.

It is in Italian but it comes with subtitles and it’s really easy to follow.
