I am currently using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.

But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or color pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.

How to draw a cute chibi mushroom – Easy Step by step Guide

I always start with a rough guide and draw the shapes that comprise the object rather than drawing directly.

So first, we are going to draw a circle and a triangle overlapping like this.

This will eventually become our cute chibi mushroom.

Draw a circle and a triangle.

Next, I am going to draw the mushroom stalk. For this, we are going to squish the bottom and draw longer sides like below, almost like a flattened “U” shape.

Draw the body of the mushroom.

Next, to make the mushroom cute and chibi, I’m going to add 2 small round eyes and a U-shaped mouth.

Remember to draw it very low so that you can give the mushroom that cute kawaii look!

Add the eyes and mouth to the cute chibi mushroom

Next, we are going to draw 2 small arms and legs.

I’m just going to draw U shaped limbs like this:

Add hands and legs to the mushroom

Now, we need to draw the mushroom cap.

So, draw a curve that touches all the points of the triangle like this. The ends of the curve should meet our little mushroom stalk. Refer the picture below if you’re having doubts:

Draw the mushroom cap

Now, let’s finish the cute chibi mushroom drawing by drawing the bottom part of the mushroom cap.

Draw the bottom part of the mushroom cap

We’re nearly done!

To complete our mushroom drawing, we can add some small circles on the mushroom cap like this:

Add small circles to the mushroom

Easy, isn’t it?

And voila! We’ve finished drawing the cute chibi mushroom!

Now, we can start coloring it.

I’m going to color the stalk and its arms and legs first with a light cream color.

Color the mushroom stalk

Then I’ll color the mushroom cap red and color the circles a very pale yellow – I’m coloring my mushroom with traditional colors but you can color your chibi mushroom any color you want!

Color the cap of the mushroom

Finally, I’ll color the inside of the mushroom cap a dark brown and even add some lines to give it a more organic look like this:

Draw kawaii characters and make stickers!
Color the inside of the mushroom

And we’re done coloring the mushroom!

But if you want to give it that kawaii look, add 2 blush spots under the eyes on the mushroom’s cheeks.

And you’re done!

You’ve learned how to draw and color a cute chibi mushroom.

Learn how to create kawaii characters.

My old bud Ilaria (we’ve been friends on Instagram back when I had Instagram) created this course! I’ve watched her grow from 0 followers, and I’m so, so proud of her!

And believe it or not, there is not 1 single good online course about learning how to draw kawaii art and then making physical stickers on the internet. I’ve been looking for a course like this for a long, long time.

And it’s finally here!!!

You can create your own stickers and print them and sell them on Etsy or any space! She goes into detail about how to draw the characters.

This is by far one of the best courses I’ve taken that is so cute and so educational.

The course is in English, and it’s amazing!

What do you need?

A sketchbook, Photoshop, and a graphic tablet so that you can draw the kawaii characters. If you want to make stickers, you’ll need a printer and sticker sheets.

Even if you don’t want to make stickers and just draw kawaii characters, this course is perfect!
