How to Draw a Cute Kawaii Corgi Face

I love drawing cute chibi animals.

These types of drawings are super cute to add to any notebook or planner and they also make great drawing projects for kids.

I’ve already done a tutorial on drawing a whole corgi here. So, check it out if you haven’t already.

In this post, I’m going to show you how to draw a kawaii corgi step by step so that by the end of the tutorial, you’ll get something like this:

add blush spots and color the inner ears

I am currently using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.

But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or color pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.

How to draw a kawaii corgi face – Step by step for beginners

I always start with very easy shapes so that anybody of any age can draw this.

So, let’s start by drawing a rough sketch first of a simple oval shape first.

If you are doing this traditionally, please draw it very lightly with a pencil so that you can erase it later.

Next, we will start by drawing a simple curve like this:

draw a small curve

Next, we’ll draw the 2 ears of the corgi – just draw 2 triangles like this:

Next, we will draw the sides of the face – so while drawing the sides, just add some zig-zags to indicate the corgi’s fur on the side of its face.

Next, we will draw the underneath of its face – just follow along the oval.

Next, draw 2 round eyes like this:

Easy, isn’t it?

Then draw a nose and a small w shape underneath the nose – this is going to be the corgi’s muzzle/snout.

And then, we’ll draw 2 triangles inside the ears – it will be the ear’s insides.

And we’re done drawing a cute corgi face!

Let’s color him now.

Corgi has a specific color pattern, so using camel brown, I’m going to color the sides of its head.

Next, color the insides of the ears and add 2 blush spots to complete the corgi’s face.
