How to Draw a Dog in a Christmas Stocking

Christmas is nearing!

And I love anything related to Christmas – it’s my favorite holiday.

This year, I thought I’d add multiple Christmas kawaii drawing tutorials.

All of these Christmas drawing ideas are for beginners and kids and they’re all step-by-step.

I’ve already done a lot of tutorials on Christmas already that includes Rudolph, A Christmas Gnome, A Christmas pudding, a Christmas tree with presents, and a Christmas tree with lights and a Christmas Guinea Pig.

I’ve also covered how to draw a Christmas Dog.

But in this tutorial, I’ll teach you how to draw a dog in a Christmas stocking like this:

I am currently using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.

But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or colored pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.

You can print out this tutorial if you’d like to have it on paper with you.

How to draw a Dog in a Christmas Stocking – Step by step for beginners and kids

Let’s draw the face of the dog first.

I’ll draw its round head with a nice semi-circle first.

Next, we’ll draw the dog’s ears.

I’m going to draw 2 triangles like this:

Now, I’ll draw the bottom part of the dog’s face.

Next, we’ll draw the 2 paws of the dog. Draw 2 circles and then 2 lines in the paws.

Now, we’ll draw the dog’s cute face.

Just draw 2 eyes and a small nose and a mouth like this:

Now, we’ve finished drawing the puppy.

Let’s draw the Christmas stocking.

I already have a post on drawing a full Christmas stocking here. But let’s start with the rim of the stocking.

Next, we will draw the rest of the stocking like this:

To complete the stocking, we’ll draw 2 patches.

And finally, draw a small Santa hat on the dog to make the dog look more Christmasy.

Next, I’ll color the dog.

You can color the dog any color, I’m going to color it brown.

Draw kawaii characters and make stickers!

Next, we’ll color the stocking.

And add more details to the dog.

I am going to color the stocking green and red.

If you are interested in drawing in a kawaii style and then selling clipart or merchandise on Etsy, check out this course!

Learn how to create kawaii characters.

My old bud Ilaria (we’ve been friends on Instagram back when I had Instagram) created this course! I’ve watched her grow from 0 followers, and I’m so, so proud of her!

And believe it or not, there is not 1 single good online course about learning how to draw kawaii art and then making physical stickers on the internet. I’ve been looking for a course like this for a long, long time.

And it’s finally here!!!

You can create your own stickers and print them and sell them on Etsy or any space! She goes into detail about how to draw the characters.

This is by far one of the best courses I’ve taken that is so cute and so educational.

The course is in English, and it’s amazing!

What do you need?

A sketchbook, Photoshop, and a graphic tablet so that you can draw the kawaii characters. If you want to make stickers, you’ll need a printer and sticker sheets.

Even if you don’t want to make stickers and just draw kawaii characters, this course is perfect!

And if you are really keen on improving your drawings or you want to create cute kawaii animals and kawaii people, check out this second course by Sara.

Sara teaches you how to draw anything in a nice kawaii style. I really love these kinds of courses because they’re so easy to learn and it’s very easy to get clients because this is a really relatable drawing style.

It is in Italian but it comes with subtitles and it’s really easy to follow.
