I love drawing dinosaurs – they are incredibly cute.
Kids can draw dinosaurs and play with little toy dinosaurs all day – it’s fun for both boys and girls.
I’ve already covered how to draw a cute dinosaur in this tutorial.
So, in today’s post, I will teach you how to draw a Brachiosaurus (a long-neck dinosaur).
You can check out my other kawaii tutorials here.
Whether you’re a kid or an adult learning how to draw, these steps are extremely easy to follow, let’s get started!
I will also color the long neck dinosaur and teach you how to do the same!

I am currently using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.
But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or color pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.
How to draw a long neck dinosaur (Brachiosaurus) – Easy Step by step guide for Kids
Whenever I begin a drawing, I start with the head.
We’ll draw the mouth of the long-neck dinosaur and we can do that by drawing a nice C-shaped curve.
I am drawing a cute long neck dinosaur, if you want to see more books that teach how to draw cute kawaii animals, check these out:
Next, I’m going to draw a long S-shaped curve for the inside of the neck.
Use one long motion to draw this neck – it’s okay if it’s not perfect. Keep trying till you’re happy with how it looks.
Once you’re done drawing the long neck, draw a small curve above the mouth and draw another long curve – this is will be the outside portion of the brachiosaurus’ long neck.
Next, we’ll draw the back – again we will use a long S-shaped curve to draw the back and the tail of the dinosaur.
Last, I’m going to finish drawing the tail and extend the curve underneath so I can draw the tummy of the dinosaur as well as the front leg.
The front leg will be really stubby to support the weight of the huge dinosaur and you can draw ragged edges at the bottom just to give the leg some texture.
It will look like this:
Now, we can draw the other leg of the dinosaur. Repeat the same process as above.
Okay, wasn’t that easy?
Next, we’ll draw the dinosaur’s other back legs and I will add one cute eye to the dinosaur as well.
I like keeping things simple!
We’re done drawing the outline of the long-neck dinosaur.
Now, we can color it any color we want!
I’m going to color the dinosaur’s body with a pinkish purple color because it’s my favorite color – but you can color it any color you want!
Next, I’m going to color the back legs of the dinosaur – because it is behind it will be darker due to the laws of physics and light.
And we’re done coloring the major portion of the brachiosaurus.
We can also add more details to this dinosaur to make it look more pretty!
I’m going to color the tummy a light pink (close to white) and I will add some dark purple scales to its back to make it look more detailed!
And lastly, I’ll add one blush spot to the dinosaur’s cheek to give it that kawaii look like this:
Doesn’t our brachiosaurus look adorable?
Congratulations. You’ve learned how to draw and color a cute long neck dinosaur from scratch.
Remember, you can color the dinosaur any color you want.
