How to Draw Christmas Mochi - Draw Cartoon Style!

Christmas is nearing!

And I thought today, I’d teach you how I draw Mochi in a Christmas tree. Mochi is the sweet white cat in NomNom Kawaii.

All of these Christmas drawing ideas are for beginners and kids, and they’re all step-by-step.

I’ve already done a lot of tutorials on Christmas already that includes Rudolph, A Christmas Gnome, A Christmas pudding, a Christmas tree with presents, and a Christmas tree with lights and a Christmas Guinea Pig.

I’ve also covered how to draw a Christmas Dog.

But in this tutorial, I’ll teach you how to draw Mochi wearing a Christmas Tree costume like this!

I am currently using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.

But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or colored pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.

You can print out this tutorial if you’d like to have it on paper with you.

How to draw Mochi from NomNom Kawaii (Christmas Edition) – Step by step for beginners and kids

Let’s draw the face of the cat first.

I’ll draw its round head with a nice semi-circle first and don’t forget the pointy ears.

Next, we’ll draw the cat’s face.

I’m going to draw a nice curve like this – remember, you don’t need to make everything perfect.

Mochi is always impervious to the world around him – so I’m going to draw him with a stoic facial expression.

Next, we’ll draw the star above him – start with 1 point.

Then we’ll draw the other 2 spokes of the Christmas star.

And finally, we’ll draw the rest of the star – and now we’ve finished drawing the cute Christmas Star on top of the tree.

Next, I’m going to draw the Christmas tree – so well draw the top part of the tree.

Then, we’ll draw the second part of the tree like this:

Next, we’ll draw the cat’s arms – isn’t Mochi super cute?

And finally, we’ll draw the rest of Mochi like this:

Now, let’s start coloring him. I’m going to start by coloring Mochi.

Next, we’ll color the rest of the tree.

What do you need?

A sketchbook, Photoshop, and a graphic tablet so that you can draw the kawaii characters. If you want to make stickers, you’ll need a printer and sticker sheets.
