How to Draw a Christmas Hot Chocolate

Christmas is nearing!

And I love anything related to Christmas – it’s my favorite holiday.

This year, I thought I’d add multiple Christmas kawaii drawing tutorials.

All of these Christmas drawing ideas are for beginners and kids and they’re all step-by-step.

I’ve already done a lot of tutorials on Christmas already that includes Rudolph, A Christmas Gnome, A Christmas pudding, a Christmas tree with presents, and a Christmas tree with lights and a Christmas Guinea Pig.

But in this tutorial, I’ll teach you how to draw a Christmas Hot chocolate (with a candy cane and marshmallows) like this:

I am currently using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.

But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or colored pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.

You can print out this tutorial if you’d like to have it on paper with you.

How to draw a Christmas Hot Chocolate – Step by step for beginners and kids

Let’s draw the mug first.

We are going to start with a simple “U” shape.

draw the cup

Next, we’ll draw the top of the mug – just draw a simple curve like this:

Now, I’ll draw the handle of the mug – I’m going to draw 2 C shapes on the side of the mug like this:

Now since this is a Christmas hot chocolate, I’m going to draw a Christmas tree on the cup – to draw a simple Christmas tree, just draw a triangle and a small stub underneath it.

Now, we can start drawing marshmallows. I’m going to draw one on the side inside the mug.

I’ll add 2 more marshmallows.

Next, we will draw a candy cane. I’m going to draw a quick cane shape on the side.

draw 2 more marshmallows and a small cane

And then draw a bigger curve and complete the candy cane.

You can add some stripes to the candy cane like this:

Next, we’ll draw the hot chocolate liquid, just draw a curve behind the marshmallows.

And we’re done! We’ve finished drawing a Christmas hot chocolate!

You can color it any color you want but for this illustration, I’m going to color it red and green!

Next, I’ll draw the hot chocolate dark brown and color the candy cane too!

Draw kawaii characters and make stickers!

And that’s it!

If you are interested in drawing in a kawaii style and then selling clipart or merchandise on Etsy, check out this course!

Learn how to create kawaii characters.

My old bud Ilaria (we’ve been friends on Instagram back when I had Instagram) created this course! I’ve watched her grow from 0 followers, and I’m so, so proud of her!

And believe it or not, there is not 1 single good online course about learning how to draw kawaii art and then making physical stickers on the internet. I’ve been looking for a course like this for a long, long time.

And it’s finally here!!!

You can create your own stickers and print them and sell them on Etsy or any space! She goes into detail about how to draw the characters.

This is by far one of the best courses I’ve taken that is so cute and so educational.

The course is in English, and it’s amazing!

What do you need?

A sketchbook, Photoshop, and a graphic tablet so that you can draw the kawaii characters. If you want to make stickers, you’ll need a printer and sticker sheets.

Even if you don’t want to make stickers and just draw kawaii characters, this course is perfect!

And if you are really keen on improving your drawings or you want to create cute kawaii animals and kawaii people, check out this second course by Sara.

Sara teaches you how to draw anything in a nice kawaii style. I really love these kinds of courses because they’re so easy to learn and it’s very easy to get clients because this is a really relatable drawing style.

It is in Italian but it comes with subtitles and it’s really easy to follow.
