How to Draw a Strawberry Jam - Draw Cartoon Style!

I love drawing cute food.

These types of drawings are super cute to add to any notebook or planner and they also make great drawing projects for kids.

I’ve already done a lot of tutorials on drawing cute and kawaii animals that you can check out here.

Since I love drawing cute foods, I thought I’d cover how to draw a cute strawberry jam jar.

Today, you’ll learn to draw this:

I use an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my digital art.

But you can use any tool – a pen and paper or color pencils or Copic markers or Photoshop because the drawing method remains the same.

How to draw cute Strawberry Jam – Step by step for beginners

I wanted to teach you how to draw a cute strawberry jam jar but at the same time, I’m going to spice it up by making it kawaii and draw a cat on it.

Most kawaii foods have this feature – they resemble some cute animal.

Let’s get started!

We’re going to draw a small bump like this – this is going to be the top of the jar

Next, draw the rim of the jar.

Now, we’ll draw the cloth that peeps out of the jar cap – so draw these little wavy lines.

It’s okay if they don’t look even – it doesn’t have to be realistic. The whole point of drawing these hand-drawn cartoons is for them to look hand-drawn.

Next, we’ll complete the jar by drawing a small cute jar underneath the jar cap.

Now, since it’s a kawaii strawberry ham, draw a cute cat on the jar.

Now, draw 2 eyes and a small mouth.

Finally, write the word jam on the jar.

Just to add more detail – draw 2 strawberries next to the jam jar.

Don’t forget to add the stems to the strawberries!

Done!

Now, it’s time to color our little strawberry jam.

First, I’ll start out with the base colors. Remember to color it any color you want! I’m going to add lots of pink!

Now, I’ll add some more details like spots on the strawberry, a small checkered pattern on the jar cloth and blush spots on the cat!

To make the jar more shiney – just draw some gloss on the jar and the strawberries – I teach how to do this in procreate in my tutorial on coloring.
