How to Draw a Cute Doughnut - Draw Cartoon Style!

I love doughnuts; who doesn’t?

Doughnuts make very cute stationery, keychains, and notebooks.

In this post, I will teach you how to draw a cute doughnut.

Once you understand how to draw the base, you can color the doughnut in various ways and add different colored icing and toppings to the doughnut!

You can draw this using sketching pencils or a fine marker or draw it digitally like me.

How to draw a cute doughnut step by step – Easy Beginner Tutorial

Step 1: Draw the doughnut outline

We will start with a simple circle first.

This is going to be the doughnut.

Now, we need to draw the doughnut hole.

So draw a little circle at the end of the circle.

Draw a concentric circle inside the previous circle

Next, we need to draw the inside of the doughnut. Just draw a semicircle at the center. And this will give your doughnut a nice 3D shape and give your drawing more depth.

And voila! You’ve just drawn a simple basic doughnut.

But now, we will jazz it up and make it look like a bear – just for fun!

Step 2: Add details to the doughnut

Now, you can make your doughnut resemble any animal.

You can make it look like a cat, a unicorn, or a dog. In this tutorial, I’m going to make the doughnut resemble a teddy bear just because I love teddy bears.

So let’s begin by drawing 2 small eyes and a nose on our doughnut.

After drawing the doughnut hole, add a small face to the doughnut

Remember to keep the eyes and the nose on the same level – this will give it that cute kawaii effect.

Next, I’ll draw 2 small ears on the side of the doughnut. Just draw 2 semicircles on each side of the doughnut to make bear ears.

And then I’ll add the icing.

To draw the icing dripping on the doughnut just draw a wavy line on the bottom part of the doughnut-like this:

And now we have drawn a cute doughnut.

It’s time to color the doughnut.

Step 3: Color the doughnut

We’ll start by coloring the base of the doughnut.

I will use a cream brown or a camel brown color to color the wheat part of the doughnut.

Once you’ve colored the doughnut base, you can color the icing.

For this tutorial, I will color the icing blue. But please note you can color the icing any color you want!

This is your doughnut, and you can use your creativity!

Now, because we are drawing a cute doughnut, we can add more details to the bear’s face on the doughnut icing.

I’m going to add 2 pink blush spots underneath the eyes and even draw a small muzzle underneath the nose of the doughnut.

You can definitely end it here, but I want to add more detail to the doughnut.

So, I’m going to add a pink drizzle on top of the icing with a loose wavy line like this:

Add drizzle on top of the doughnut or sprinkles

And you’ve finished coloring the doughnut.

You can let your imagination flow and color the icing any color you want. You can draw a pink doughnut or a sugar-glazed doughnut by using a cream color or color it chocolate brown or lilac purple.

After coloring the base, you can add sprinkles or add a neat drizzle.

You can even change the color of the sprinkles to any color you want!

Coloring doughnuts are so much fun!

And once you’re done, you can add shadows to your drawing to make it look more organic and give the drawing more depth.
