How to Draw a Kawaii Girl - Draw Cartoon Style!

If you’ve been reading my website for a while, you’ll discover I love drawing cute kawaii things.

I can’t believe I’ve drawn so many animals and food but I’ve never drawn a kawaii girl before.

So, in this post, I’m going to teach you how to draw a cute kawaii girl step by step.

This is such a great kid’s project! And these make adorable stickers.

How to draw a kawaii girl step by step – Easy tutorial for beginners

Please note that I’m using Procreate and drawing this digitally.

You can even use Clip Art Studio as it is beautiful software that most digital artists use, including Manga and Anime artists.

I talk more about how I got started with digital art here.

You can use any tool you want to make this drawing because the process basically is the same. You can use color pencils, pens or crayons – it’s completely your choice!

Let’s begin.

Step 1: Draw the outline of the girl

Let’s start by drawing the girl first.

We’ll start with the face.

We are going to draw a semi-circle for the face like this:

Then we’ll draw 2 ears and 2 small eyes on the same level as the ears like this:

Next, I’ll color the eyes and add 2 eyelashes and also draw a small mouth smiling at the center like this:

We’re done with the face.

Let’s draw the clothes.

I’m going to start by drawing her sleeves like this. Yes, there’s no neck. Kawaii characters are very small and rounded so we eliminate unnecessary details.

Next, we’ll draw her shirt tucked in, like this:

Then, we’ll draw her little shorts.

Next, we’ll draw her legs and shoes like this:

Next, we’ll complete the sleeves and draw her tiny hands.

Next, I’ll add a little bad just to add more cuteness to this drawing.

And then, I’ll draw her bangs – just keep drawing various shapes over her head – draw some curved and some straight – this will replicate cute bangs.

And then, I’ll draw her hair – I’m going to give her long hair – but you can draw any hairstyle you want!

Wasn’t that easy?

Now, we’ve finished drawing the kawaii girl, let’s color it.

Step 2: Color the kawaii soda can

I’m going to start with her face. I’ll color her skin and add 2 blush spots to her face.

I’ll also color her hands.

Then I’ll color her clothes – you can color her clothes any color you want. I’m also going to add a little color to her bag.

Next, I’ll color her hair brown to go with her outfit!

And we’re done drawing and coloring the cute kawaii girl
