If you’ve been reading my website for a while, you’ll discover I love food and drawing food even more.
I have recently developed an addiction to drawing food in a kawaii style. After I heard about Yakults in Korea, which is a fermented milk beverage sold in Korea, I decided I needed to draw it.
This is such a great kid’s project! And these make adorable stickers.
So, I thought I’d teach you how to draw a yakult.
If you like drawing cute kawaii food or are looking for an easy cute procreate drawing tutorial, this is perfect.

How to draw a Yakult step by step – Easy tutorial for beginners
Please note that I’m using Procreate and drawing this digitally.
You can even use Clip Art Studio as it is beautiful software that most digital artists use, including Manga and Anime artists.
I talk more about how I got started with digital art here.
You can use any tool you want to make this drawing because the process basically is the same. You can use color pencils, pens or crayons – it’s completely your choice!
Let’s begin.
Step 1: Draw the outline of the Yakult bottle
Let’s start by drawing the Yakult bottle first.
It will take some time, but we are done with the outline, we can start designing our Yakult bottle.
So, I’ll start with the bottle cap first – just draw a simple oval.
Next, I’m going to draw the rim of the bottle. Just draw a wavy pattern like this around the oval shape.
Next, we’ll continue drawing the bottle – just draw 2 lines going outward like this:
Next, we are going to draw an indent in the bottle – Yakult bottles come in this particular style. So, just draw 2 C shapes like this:
Next, I’ll draw the bottom of the Yakult bottle. It’s very curved like this. It doesn’t have to be perfect – you can tell my lines are a little wonky.
And we are done drawing the outline of the Yakult bottle.
Next, we’ll move on to coloring it!
Step 2: Color the cute Yakult bottle
Now, you can color it and make it look the way it actually looks in real life.
But honestly? I find the Yakult bottle quite plain and simple. I thought I’d fancy it up. So I’m going to make a fruit version and I’ll start with my favorite fruit – avocado.
We’ll start by coloring the bottle with the basic cream color. This is the color of the Yakult bottle.
Next, we’ll color the lid of the Yakult bottle.
Instead of the standard red, I am going to color the lid green.
Next, I’m going to add 2 stripes at the bottom – this will add some color to the bottle and make it look prettier. I am doing this on Procreate so make sure you are using different layers.
Next, you can draw lines on the areas where the bottle folds and expands – this will give a 3D look to your Yakult bottle.
Next, I’ll add 2 small eyes and a mouth to the Yakult bottle – this will give our bottle a very cute look!
And finally, I’ll add 2 pink blush spots on the bottle so that it looks more kawaii. I am using the Bonobo brush which is free in Procreate.
Next, I’m going to draw a nice avocado. I will first draw the shape with a dark green color.
And then I’ll color the inside of the avocado with a light greenish yellow color.
Then I’ll draw the avocado seed with a dark brown color.
Next, I’ll add a barcode to the bottle so that the bottle looks more realistic. The more elements you add to your Yakult bottle, the better it looks!
Next, I’ll add some small dots on the label of the Yakult bottle. This will give your label more oomph!
And now it’s time to add highlights. I’m going to draw it using the Studio pen brush (which comes free with Procreate). You can see this post to see how I color my digital art.
Next, I’m going to change the blending mode to “Add” and change the opacity to 10%. And you should get something like this:
And voila!
We’ve finished learning to draw a cute Yakult bottle.
And the best part is, you can draw any type of Yakult bottle. I’m going to draw and color a peach variation:
And here it is!
