How to Draw a Cute Pot with a Cactus

I’ve recently taken a serious liking to plants after buying a few of them for my office.

In this post, I thought I’d talk about how to draw a cute pot with a cactus.

How to draw a cute Pot with a Cactusstep by step – Easy tutorial for beginners

Please note that I’m using Procreate and drawing this digitally.

You can even use Clip Art Studio as it is beautiful software that most digital artists use, including Manga and Anime artists.

You can use any tool you want to make this drawing because the process basically is the same. You can use color pencils, pens or crayons – it’s completely your choice!

Let’s begin.

Step 1: Draw a cute pot and a cactus

Let’s start by drawing a simple pot shape first.

After this, we can basically draw any animal on the pot.

This is going to be a rough sketch, so if you’re drawing this traditionally, then draw it very lightly with a pencil.

This shape is very basic. Once you draw this shape, you can draw any pot shape you want.

I’m going to lighten this rough sketch by reducing the opacity and draw a pot in the shape of a cat just for fun.

Remember, you can draw any animal you want!

I just added 2 ears. Next, I’m going to draw 2 small eyes and a cute mouth for the cat pot.

Next, we’ll draw the cactus – this is fairly easy.

Just draw a small mountain shape – this is going to be your cactus.

And draw small quick lines (these will be your cactus spines) all over the cactus.

Remember to vary the thickness and length of the lines to make your cactus look more organic.

Step 1: Color the cute pot and a cactus

Let’s start by coloring the pot first.

You can color your pot any color you want. I’m going to go for a subtle cream color.

Next, we’ll add some finer details to the cat.

I’m going to add some stripes to its face and draw 2 small indents in its ears with little triangles.

Wasn’t that easy?

Our cute cat pot already looks really charming.

But it’s not a complete kawaii pot unless we add those blush spots. So I’m going to add 2 pink blush spots on the cat pot like this using the bonobo brush. It comes free with Procreate.

Next, I’ll color the cactus a lime green color.

And lastly, I’ll add some highlights to my pot. You can see how I color my digital art and add highlights in this post.

And voila!
