I talk more about how I got started with digital art here.

You can use any tool you want to make this drawing because the process basically is the same. You can use color pencils, pens or crayons – it’s completely your choice!

Let’s begin.

Step 1: Draw a ghost dog

We will start by drawing the top of the dog’s head – I am going to use very easy shapes.

Just draw a simple semi-circle like this.

Next, we will draw the dog’s ears by drawing 2 inverted triangles like this.

Now, we need to draw a sheet on the dog.

So, on one side, just draw a slanted line but on the other draw a curve like this:

draw the sheet over the dog's face and body

This sheet is going over the dog’s bottom and its legs.

Next, draw ruffles at the end of the sheet by drawing a wavy line horizontally like this:

Next, draw 2 small eyes and a nose and a mouth on the dog like this.

We are going to draw a small hole on the dog’s nose and mouth so it looks more cute and believable. This will make our ghost dog so cute!

Next, we will draw a small cute tail at the end of our ghost dog.

The tail will poke through the sheet.

Next, draw cute little legs under the ghost dog.

Finally, draw some wavy lines around the tail to make it look like our little ghost dog is wagging his little tail.

And we are done drawing the ghost dog.

Let’s color it now.

Step 2: Color the ghost dog

You can color your ghost dog any color you want. For the purpose of this tutorial, I am going to color it brown!

Next, I’ll color the sheet a light purple and also add 2 little blush spots on the sheet to make it look like the ghost dog is blushing.

And voila, we’ve finished drawing a cute ghost dog.
